At Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA), we pride ourselves on approaching culinary arts with a “food is medicine” mindset. Our farm-to-table philosophy means we proudly work with local farms and often use our own homegrown vegetables and herbs to create daily menus featuring fresh, seasonal, and clean ingredients for residents and families to enjoy.

I remember when I was seven years old, in my grandmother’s kitchen helping her make Sunday sauce. She would always tell me how important it was to select the freshest produce – how to hold a tomato and feel its ripeness. She’d give me clippers to cut fresh basil from her garden and she would use every inch of the product from stems to bones in her cooking. She took time to explain the importance of respecting the earth and the food we eat. She’d let me stir the sauce and sneak a little taste. That’s where my love for cooking and appreciation for farming began.
